Centaurus A (also known as NGC 5128) is a lenticular galaxy about 14 million light-years away in the constellation Centaurus. On March 14, 1998 the Hubble Space Telescope showed a close-up view of a turbulent firestorm of star birth along a nearly edge of the galaxy.
