Sagittarius Star Cloud
|
This is not actually designated a star cluster but a star cloud, which are dependent on the point of view of the observer - The stars that make up the cloud do not actually reside close to each other, they are just in the same line-of-sight.
The Sagittarius Star Cloud (also known as Delle Caustiche, Milky Way Patch M24, Star Cloud M24, Messier Object 24, IC 4715, or NGC 6603) is a star cloud in the Sagittarius constellation. It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1764. M24 is not considered a deep sky object, as it is a huge star cloud in the Milky Way Galaxy.
