Big Dipper or The Plough

The big dipper is part of the constellation Ursa Major, Great Bear, and makes up the bear's hind quarters and tail.
Possibly the most recognized of heavenly bodies in the Northern Hemisphere, the Big Dipper is an example of an asterism - a pattern of stars seen in Earth's sky which is not an official constellation.
