Skylab

Skylab was the first space station and was constructed from the upper stage of a Saturn V rocket. Although it accumulated only 171 days in orbit throughout its nine missions, it prepared NASA for long-duration flight. This image was taken by an Apollo spacecraft, prior to docking with Skylab.
